		<description>Very clear your extract fo the text of Page-Jones. What here is called Composition and Aggregation is well known in the semantic data model field as Aggregation and Grouping (see, for instance, the SDM-Sematic Data Model of Hammer &amp; McLeod). 
In my opinion the only significant distiction of the two concepts is the &quot;The parts are not alike&quot; for composition and &quot;The partes are alike&quot; for the aggregation. 
Since in real world models not all objects must be physical things, we can call a couple as a (heteromic) composition of a man and a woman. But, in a polygamic society a man can participate on many couples (~rule 2). A person is a composition of its head, arms and its legs. But, he(she) can lose its legs and continues to be a person (~rule 1).</description>
